UMWELT is the specific way an individual can experience and perceive the world.

UMWELT explores the idea that reality is shaped by perception. The collection looks at the space between what is real and what is perceived. Drawing from surrealism and optical illusion, familiar forms are distorted through unexpected scale, shifting perspectives, reflections, color, and light, revealing how easily our understanding of reality can be transformed by the way we see it.
Original art installation created by me, photographed by Michelle Mandoki.

THE ARCHITECT OF PERCEPTION

THE ARCHITECT OF PERCEPTION
Inspired by Barragán’s mastery of color, light, and shadow.
This part of the collection explores garments as personal architecture, inspired by Luis Barragán’s ability to transform space through color, light, and perspective. Bold color contrasts echo his visual language, while surrealist prints and embroideries play with optical illusion and distorted forms. Versatile garments can be worn and interpreted in different ways, allowing each person to shape them through their own perspective.

A surreal meditation on perception, this print reimagines the fig through luminous close-ups and blurred distortions.

a garden's dream

A GARDEN'S DREAM
A garden dreams about emeralds
If gardens could dream, how would it feel to step inside their visions? Here, natures reality bends into surreal forms. Draped and asymmetrical silhouettes echo instances of a garden in motion, while distorted stripes disrupt perception, moving as the fabric drapes. At its heart, a luminous emerald green shines like a jewel, transforming the body into a living treasure of nature’s imagination.

refraction of realities

REFRACTION OF REALITIES
Every reflection is a new world
Inspired by the poetry of water and surrealism’s fascination with distortion, the collection captures the sensation of stepping into a reflection

WATER DISTORTION PRINT
This print transforms the urban landscape into a liquid dreamscape. Using water as a distorting lens, reflections of architecture and city textures ripple into unfolding patterns of blue, black, and grey. The moving surface fragments reality into abstract forms, inviting the viewer to see the familiar city through an altered, fluid perspective

JUICY DISTORTION
JUICY DISTORSION
When life doesn't give you lemons
If gardens could dream, how would it feel to step inside their visions? Here, natures reality bends into surreal forms. Draped and asymmetrical silhouettes echo instances of a garden in motion, while distorted stripes disrupt perception, moving as the fabric drapes. At its heart, a luminous emerald green shines like a jewel, transforming the body into a living treasure of nature’s imagination.

LYCHEE PRINT
A surreal exploration of lychees transformed into dreamlike distortions, this print bends the exotic fruit into fluid, abstract forms that blur the line between the natural and the fantastical. Swirls of vivid pinks, deep reds, lush greens, and earthy tones flow in liquefied motion, playful yet slightly disorienting. Inspired by the tactile allure of fruit: its skin, color, and juiciness

Reflecting the many ways we perceive the world, this jacket features thermochromic fabric that changes color with temperature.

LENTICULAR PRINT
This lenticular print shifts from purple to yellow depending on the viewing angle and movement of the garment, creating a playful, real-time optical illusion that showcases how everything is a matter of perception.
